Hallo liebe community,

Ich habe vor kurzem eine Nintendo switch Light gekauft und erfolgreich reparieren können. Es handelte sich nur um einen defekten Display. Meine Tochter ist schon voller Vorfreude mit der Konsole zu spielen.

Leider ist auf dem Gerät noch eine altersbeschränkung aktiviert und sie ist mit dem Nintendo Account des Vorbesitzers verknüpft. Ohne den Pin zum deaktivieren der Altersbeschränkung kann ich die Konsole nicht auf Werkseinstellung zurücksetzen und sie mit meinem Nintendo Account Verknüpfen. Auch im Wartungsmodus werde ich nach der Pin gefragt, hier hatte ich auch keinen Erfolg. Der Nintendo Support hilft mir hier verständlicherweise auch nicht weiter, da ich nicht der Besitzer bin und es sich um ein gebrauchtes Gerät handelt. Der Verkäufer meldet sich absolut nicht mehr zurück und ich habe keine weitere Möglichkeit ihn zu kontaktieren. Alles sehr Ärgerlich.

Habt ihr noch weitere Ideen wie ich die Altersbeschränkung deaktivieren kann oder das Gerät für mich brauchbar machen kann? Ich wäre sehr Dankbar über jede Antwort.

@soerenlampe let's see if our game console Guru @dan0 has a solution for you. koppie007, what do you think? Any solution to clear those restrictions? I know that is usually something none of us like to get involved in but I guess we could make an exception here ;-)

There are unfortunately only 2 ways.

1: Contact the seller. The seller can remove this remotely and unlock the Switch Lite from their Nintendo account.

2: Contact Nintendo support to remove it. All they need is the serial number and they can enter it in their tool and generate the "master" code. When you fill this one in, the Switch Lite will automatically deactivate the Parental controls and you can format the Switch Lite and set it up as new.

I'm actually surprised that Nintendo Germany won't remove the lock.... While it's locked, you cannot format the Switch Lite and all the personal data will still be on it from the previous owner. Nobody wants this.

So what would I do: Contact Nintendo Germany again, and tell them to remove the lock. If they are telling you again that they don't want to remove it, tell them that there is data on it and that you would like to have this removed.

Those are the only possible ways.

Es gibt leider nur zwei Möglichkeiten.

1: Kontaktiere den Verkäufer. Der Verkäufer kann die Sperre aus der Ferne aufheben und die Switch Lite von seinem Nintendo-Account trennen.

2: Wende dich an den Nintendo-Support, um die Sperre entfernen zu lassen. Man benötigt dafür lediglich die Seriennummer; der Support kann diese in sein System eingeben und den „Master-Code“ generieren. Sobald du diesen Code eingibst, deaktiviert die Switch Lite automatisch die Kindersicherung, sodass du das Gerät formatieren und neu einrichten kannst.

Es wundert mich ehrlich gesagt, dass Nintendo Deutschland die Sperre nicht aufheben will... Solange das Gerät gesperrt ist, kannst du die Switch Lite nicht formatieren, und die persönlichen Daten des Vorbesitzers bleiben darauf gespeichert. Das möchte niemand.

Mein Rat wäre also: Kontaktiere Nintendo Deutschland erneut und fordere sie auf, die Sperre zu entfernen. Sollten sie sich erneut weigern, weise darauf hin, dass sich noch Daten auf dem Gerät befinden und du möchtest, dass diese entfernt werden.

Das sind die einzigen beiden Möglichkeiten.

@dan0 thank you for the answer, i tried to tell the german nintendo support that there is data on the console, but they refused to unlock the switch because of data protection laws in our country. I am not the owner and they told me if i wanna get a masterkey, i need the serialnumber, the e-mail from the linked nintendo Account and the birth date from the owner, wich i dont know, obviously. Otherwise its technical impossible for their Systems to Generation a masterkey. Idk man thats just our sick country laws. They just imediatly think " youre not the owner, you must have been stolen this device, thats a safety hazard" I mean i could easyly proof that i bought the console but that was not in their interest. The seller finaly contacted me and told me that he isnt the owner as well.. his son got it as a gift from a friend but they are not in contact anymore. I think thats totaly made up and he just ripped me off.So long Story short, he wouldnt help me either and dont answers me anymore.Sorry for the Bad English

@dan0 I have another switch lite laying around and could switch the motherboard and just hope that that one is not locked. This switch lite was described as broken screen but after the screenrepair it doesnt Show anything. Battery is ok, I think its a Bad fuel gauge chip or any other loading chip, but i couldnt find a Single Bad resistor on the whole motherboard. Any Tipps for troubleshooting with that problem? Its absolutly black screen no Power no battery symbol. It takes a little Charge with my ampmeter connected. Ive got "ok" soldering skills and could change a normal chip with legs, but idk if i could reball a chip if its one of those but im ready to try it.

Hi!

So, regarding the 1st Switch Lite, It makes no sense why the original owner is not willing to help as they can contact Nintendo to unlock it. Nintendo just need the serial number to generate a unique master code for your Switch Lite… Also they can easily remove the Switch Lite from their Nintendo account and then it is solved. Unfortunately those are the only 2 options… I hope you will get it unlocked someday.. I would definitely keep it as how it is now.

Regarding the 2nd Switch, a good battery is mendatory for the Switch Lite to boot. Without a battery or with a bad battery, the Switch won’t boot. Did you tried a new battery already? Otherwise, check the “Charge IC” and you could replace it for a new one to test. Also check the USB-C connector, if it’s bad, it won’t do anything…

The only downside is that if you need the Device ID, is that it need to be derived from fuses.

You can find more info about that, on that website. But try it first, who knows, it may work :)
