My Dewalt 735 has started tripping the house circuit breaker and when it is running it is not at full speed. Also, the smell of burning electrical components comes from the planer.

Did you snag a nail or screw within the plank? Check the blades for damage. With the power cord disconnected does the drum spin? The bearings could be shot.
Use care! As the blades are sharp!
