English: Why doesn't the soldering station work with Oneplus power supplies?

As I said, I mainly own Oneplus power supplies and can therefore unfortunately not charge my Fixhub with them. So far so good.

But now I can use the corresponding soldering iron perfectly. Even in the specsheet of the Oneplus power supply (100W) the at least 10W (2A 5V) should be charged without supporting Warp/Vooc or other charging standard.

As a question; are there efforts to add charging standards other than USB-PD and why does the soldering iron work?

Gestern Abend nach ca. einer Stunde Löten schaltete ich die Station aus .

Heute wollte ich weitermachen und nach dem Einschalten kam der Fehler "Stationsfehler Firmwareupdate " obwohl ich gar kein Update gemacht hatte.

Es lässt sich auch nichts benutzen. Ich habe 3-4 verschiedene ältere Firmware probiert , keine Änderung ... Zurück auf die neueste ... keine Änderung .

Ich habe dieses Fixhub nun seit 2 Wochen , das kann doch nicht sein ...

Der Fixhub bleibt deaktiviert . Kein Power an keinem USBC.

Ab Firmware 1.4.0 kommt dieser Fehler "Stationsfehler Firmwareupdate"

unter Firmware 1.4.0 kommt diese nicht , es lädt der Akku auf , aber es wird weder das Lötwerkzeug erkannt noch kann ich etwas an den 2 Front USBC laden.

Da es während des einschalten und NICHT während des Flashens auftrat gehe ich davon aus das es ein defekt ist . Alles andere wäre unlogisch .

Na dann mal gute Nacht an alle evtl. vorhandenen Mitleser :)

Ich habe das Supportteam kontaktiert. Es ist irgendwie sehr schwer hier klarzukommen wenn man ein Problem mit einem Gerät hat . Hätte ich so nicht gedacht , ehrlich.

Ich habe jetzt einen teuren Briefbeschwerer und bin mal gespannt wie es weitergeht . Ich hoffe das sich bald jemand meldet der in der Sache weiterhelfen kann . Sprich Umtauschen oder Erstatten.

Warum wird es einem hier so schwer gemacht ein defektes Gerät zu melden bzw. es unkompliziert auszutauschen . Ich verstehe das nicht !!

Trotzdem Vielen Dank an die netten und hilfsbereiten Leute hier im Forum .

UPDATE 01/12/25

Wir haben jetzt Dezember … Ich habe mich an das Supportteam gewandt. Mir wurde gesagt das ich das Gerät einschicken soll. Das habe ich getan.

Das Gerät kam am 11.11.25 an und mir wurde gesagt das es 14 Tage dauern könnte bis alles bearbeitet sei.

Jetzt warte ich immer noch und habe nicht einmal eine Nachricht über den aktuellen Stand der Reperatur bekommen. Ehrlich gesagt habe ich mir mehr erwartet … vor allem von IFixit die ja allerhand Reperaturwerkzeuge für teuer Geld anpreisen .

Es war ein großer Fehler dieser Firma mein Vertrauen und auch jede Menge Geld zu schenken.

Ich möchte entweder mein Geld zurück oder mal eine Nachricht über den Stand der Dinge.

Hallo, bei mir sind 2 Akkus def. Dafür wäre eine gute Reparatur Anleitung gut. Hat da jemand was?

Leider brannte mir ein Bauteil auf der Platine des Drehzahlreglers durch.

Meine Vermutung ist das der Holzstaub in Verbindung mit Feuchtigkeit eine leitende Verbindung geschaffen hat, wo keine sein sollte. Bedauerlicherweise ist das Gerät so alt, dass ich kein Ersatzteil mehr bekomme. Da nur ein Bauteil auf der Platine durchgebrannt ist, würde ich den Ersetzten. Leider kann ich nicht mehr erkennen, worum es sich genau handelt. Würde mich freuen jemand mir sagen könnte um was es hier Handelt.

Bauteil ist leider Explodiert. Keinerlei Beschriftung mehr vorhanden. :(

Hier nochmal ohne das defekte Bauteil und den Potentiometer.

Dazu hab ich den Akku entnommen und die innenliegenden Kontakte mit speziellen "langhalsigen" Krokodilklemmen mit Strom aus einem Labornetzgerät mit der geforderten 12V Spannung versorgt.

Aber ausser einer blinkenden Poweranzeige des Gerätes keine Inbetriebnahme hinbekommen. Weiss jemand Warum ??

nachdem ich bei einer lampe einen losen draht am akku wieder festlöten wollte, erkennt der linke usb c port meiner ifixit lötstation meinen lötkolben nicht mehr.

erst wurde gar nichts mehr erkannt, aber nach einiger zeit hat zumindest der rechte port wieder meinen lötkolben erkannt, wenn ich den lötkolben links einstecke, erkennt die station ein gerät, aber es wird nicht als lötkolben identifiziert.

ich habe auch schon ein firmwareupdate gemacht.

im fehlerspeicher stand akkufehler ganz oben, die anderen meldungen weiß ich nicht mehr, weil ich den fehlerspeicher gelöscht habe nachdem am anfang nichts mehr ging.

ich gehe davon aus, dass ich mir evtl durch das löten an einer fremdspannung etwas zerschossen habe.

der akku hatte eine spannung von 3,42V.

kann man den linken port irgendwie wieder reparieren?

Auf der Geschwindigkeitsregelplatine 2 defekte Mosfets ausgemacht. Nun bin ich etwas unsicher wie ich herausfinde welchen genau ich brauche. Ich hab das Thema schon mit Chat GPT versucht zu lösen, aber würde gerne hier nochmal nachfragen ob das so seine Richtigkeit hat.

Der Bohrer hatte sich verklemmt, der Schraubstock ist mitsamt den Werkstück gegen den Bohständer geflogen und nun ist das Bohrfutter circa 1,5 cm rausgedreht.

Also zwischen Gehäuse und Ende Bohrfutrer befindet sich ein 1,5cm Spalt.

Das Bohfutter lässt sich noch auf und zu drehen.

Aufgeschraubt habe ich die Maschine schon, dass Getriebe sieht auf den ersten Blick unbeschädigt aus.

Wie bekomme ich das Bohrfutter wieder reingemacht?

I bought the FixHub soldering station kit sometime in February-March 2025, when the FixHub was still marked for pre-order (I think?), but was already on the shelves of Micro Center. I had only tried to turn it on for the first time after purchase yesterday (which in hindsight was an extreme misjudgement for quality checks of purchased tools that are relatively valuable). So, naturally I figured the battery probably drained out during that time.

I saw mentions of updating the FixHub's firmware via web searching, but I wasn't able to figure out how to do so until today. I was able to use the FixHub's web console page to update the FixHub to the latest version of 1.4.0. So, at least the FixHub wasn't dead on arrival.

However, 1.4.0 firmware version ends up in a very bad edge/corner case when the device is drained to 0%, has its firmware immediately updated to 1.4.0, and then attempts to charge its completely drained internal battery.

Generally FixHub will attempt to charge and the charging animation will come up, but eventually within 10-15 seconds encounter battery error B02/battery disconnected (though only once I saw it experience battery error B04/battery charging stopped for protection in the error logs part of the settings). (The FixHub error codes can be looked up here.) The FixHub will then turn itself off, and the empty battery icon will show when FixHub is turned off. If one attempts to turn of FixHub in this state, then the normal on menu will come up, but the battery icon will flash between completely empty (with just the battery outline) and the slightest line charge to show the 0% battery state. Due to this state, one can only get FixHub to navigate through the settings menu, but won't be able to heat up to solder. Not even using a non-PD cable of USB-A and USB-C could get the FixHub to begin charging past 0%.

I was able to resolve this issue by downgrading the firmware (or conducting a firmware downgrade attack, if the FixHub were to be used in a more stringent infosec scenario; but also not really because there was no firmware rollback protection in the first place) to the second latest firmware version 1.32, as I found the FixHub web console was still always able to work with the web serial interface. (Coincidentally, this reminds me of the web installer for Google Pixel/GrapheneOS, as these also seem to only work with Chromium-based browsers.) The process may have failed once at most, though I was able to simply refresh the FixHub web console page to start the process over again very quickly. Once I successfully flashed firmware version 1.3.2, then FixHub was able to charge with a "typical" GaN charger from 0% with no boot looping.

Although this is likely a rare edge case "in the field", if this issue can be reproduced, then I would recommend that this boot looping issue should be fixed in the next FixHub firmware release.

Update: I was able to upgrade the firmware from version 1.3.2 to 1.4.0 after the FixHub was fully charged. (I made sure to reset the battery health via the web console.) Before I upgraded the firmware and probably when the battery became fully charged (I wasn't home while it charged), the FixHub experienced a total of at least 4 consecutive B16 battery errors/battery warm (not hot). (The FixHub can only save a max of the latest 4 errors in the error log.) After about 2-3 failed attempts of upgrading the firmware from 1.3.2 to 1.4.0 (including when there was a false success result and the firmware stayed at 1.3.2), the FixHub was able to update to firmware 1.4.0. I will test to make sure the soldering functions work on the FixHub, to make sure the FixHub functions properly. If I don't make any further edits, then assume that the FixHub is working fine.

Final update: This issue seems to have been addressed in firmware version 1.4.2. According to the release notes for this version on August 8, 2025, the changelog on the console page states:

• Fixed bootlooping errors that occurred when charging a dead battery
• Improved accuracy of charge timer warnings
• Minimized interruptions and clarified language regarding battery temperature errors
