Diverse Wasserkoch leiden darunter, dass sie nach ein paar Jahren nicht mehr selbsttätig abschalten - wenn das Wasser bereits kocht.

a) die Mechanismen, mit denen abgeschaltet wird (generelle Funktionsbeschreibung)

b) Bezugsquelle für die “Pfennig” / “centartikel”, wegen derer man das ganze Teil wegwirft.

Funktionsskizze ?

Grundtypen, wie reale Kocher das Abschalten bei ca. 100grad lösen ?

Worauf es ankommt.

Ein Wasserkocher produziert im Verhältnis extrem viel Abfall (Volumen und Gewicht ) im Vergleich zum Volumen des eigentlichen Defekts.

Beim Herunterdrücken des Schalters geht die Kontrollleuchte nicht an. Der Wasserkocher lässt sich also nicht in Gang setzen! Was ist da los?

Tea Kettle: Ersatz für das Kalksieb an der Tülle

Eine Sollbruchstelle von neueren Wasserkochern ist das Kalksieb an der Tülle. Das Nylongewebe wird mit der Zeit spröde und kann reißen, insbesondere, wenn man versucht das Sieb mechanisch zu reinigen.

Eigentlich wäre es nicht schwer das Bauteil zu ersetzen, da es einfach entnehmbar ist. Oft gibt es ihn aber als Ersatzteil nicht mehr beim Hersteller (oder für den Preis + Versand ist ein Neugerät im Laden günstiger zu haben).

Das gerissene Nylongewebe des Filters zu ersetzen und neues auf den Rahmen zu kleben wäre eigentlich nicht schwer. Dafür bräuchte man nur ein kleines Stück von dem Nylongewebe zurechtschneiden und einen für Lebensmittelkontakt / 100 °C beständigen Kleber. Leider gibt es das Gewebe nur in Mengen für die Industrie.

Fragen: Wo bekäme man das Gewebe her und welcher Kleber wäre geeignet?

Hello,

Fellow has sent me thru the normal rigamorole with descaling, and when that didn’t work, sending a replacement base. The kettle is the problem, and now they are offering to replace the kettle. But I want mine to work, I don’t want to throw another unrecyclable piece of trash into the landfills.

Does anyone know how to start investigating what’s wrong with it, or anyone else who has successfully repaired a Fellow Kettle?

There is a resistor or some kind of fuse soldered to the board that needs to be replaced - Has burn marks on it and will not complete a circuit when tested with an ohm meter.

Is the best option to cut it out to see if I can match it up or look for a new board?

I'm not one for discarding items but after 9 months this product stopped blending. However, I'm sure it still manages to heat the temperature .

I have held on to this product in the hope I can fix it + bring it back to life. The signal is working when I plug it in at the mains. It appears the motor just won't operate as it should. I've looked inside the lid but it seems impossible to get beyond its exterior. Can you suggest if it's worth keeping hold of or not?

Aroma AWK-125S Electric Kettle

A while ago myAroma electric kettle from target stopped working- if I flip the switch the light powers on, but it does not heat the water. I'm presuming the heating element has failed- does anyone know anything about taking apart kettles and obtaining/replacing the components? Also any other ideas of what it could be- like a blown fuse that would be an easy fix? I know nothing about these kettles so at a loss here.

The kettle by OXO. It sounds like a train whistle upon boiling. It was a gift a long time ago, they no longer have it in stock.
