AMD Radeon RX 580: Gpu only works without driver (RX 580)

Hello everyone,

I have a GPU that only works without a driver.

There are no short circuits or defects on the PCB.

The card runs normally without drivers or in recovery mode even with normal resolution. As soon as drivers are used, it crashes.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find any defects or short circuits on the VRam, perhaps someone else has another idea.

Thank you very much.

Video Card: Better GPU for future proofing

I know this might seem stupid but I want to build a PC on AM5 that will last me till 2032, and while I will be able to upgrade a CPU down the line I won't be able to upgrade a GPU till that 2032 mark and I want a GPU that will last till then playing games I don't care if it won't be able to handle everything on Ultra by then but I also won't wanna be playing everything on Low then, not because my GPU isn't good enough but because of vram if it means worse performance now but better later because I'll have more vram then I'm sold, I want a 1440p at least 60fps build even with the use of dlss and maybe frame gen, so if a 5060 TI by then will be able to play games with higher settings even though it is weaker but because it has more vram then I'll buy the 5060ti, but if the 5060ti will bottleneck because of performance way before the 12gb of the 5070 will become a bigger issue than the performance of the 5060 ti even though it has more vram then I'll buy the 5070, please I need good information and a lot of help because I don't know about future proofing a lot, thanks! (Also recommendations about other GPUs are welcome but if it's and AMD please list how fsr compares to dlss because if it really isn't a big difference which I hear it is then ok and also I want rt or path tracing but not max and no older NVIDIA graphic cards 50 series only)

GTX 3060: RTX 3060 No Display - Fans Spin but No Signal in Any PC

My RTX 3060 is not outputting any display. I have confirmed that the fans spin and the card appears to have power, but there is no signal to the monitor. I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

- Tested with different HDMI and DisplayPort cables.

- Tested on multiple monitors.

- Re-seated the card in the PCIe slot.

- Verified that the 8-pin power connectors are fully plugged in.

- Tested the card in a completely different PC, and it still does not work (no display).

Since the fans spin but there is no output in any system, I suspect a board-level hardware failure such as a missing 1.8V rail, a VBIOS issue, or a faulty VRM component. How can I narrow down which component has failed using a multimeter, and are there common failure points for this specific card?

AMD Radeon RX 570: AMD RX 570 not booting. Voltage measurements included

Hey all, I've been trying to fix a XFX rx570 XXX edition 8gb. Keep in mind I've no knowledge so I've been doing this using tutorials. Any help is appreciated.

8pin connector led is open when pc boots, but nothing else happens (no image).

Fans don't spin.

Everything below is based on this video: https://youtu.be/2Yz7HfzggYc?si=UM8VOndm...

PCIe pins are all ok. They have similar resistance and not one is faulty. PCIe capacitors are all ok also, they have similar resistances.

12V pin is ok. 3.3V is also ok.

No visible damage/burnt components.

I booted it with the heatsink unscrewed to check voltages and here is what I gathered. Everything below is based on this video: https://youtu.be/5oD69tIrU7c?si=cQbnSDhl...

GPU core doesn't heat up at all. Stays cold.

12V voltage is ok (C157, C151).

3.3V voltage is ok (next to C157, C151).

At the 5V regulator on the back on the 3 legs I read 2.5V, 3.3V, 12.V and opposite of them I read 3.3V. Didn't read the suppossed 5V.

At the 1.81V on the back I read 1.81V. One thing I noted was when I read the voltage, the fans spun for a split second.

Display rail read 0.92V

VDDCI/memory controller read 0V

1R0 (memory) read 0V

GPU read 0V

Things I tried that I am not sure I did correctly:

Continuity test on 8 pin connector socket.

Resistance measurement on the regulators on the back of the card.

Thanks!

It never crashes on me or turns off randomly, I still play dmz on cod at high/medium settings but it lags since it get too hot while loading new graphics.

Video Card: Where is the temperature sensor component located exactly?

Had this card for years and still works great. Recently started doing this thing where it shows it reaching temperatures as high as 90c at idle. Logically the first thing that comes to mind is that it needs new thermal paste or pads etc. I guarantee this is not the case. The card is still cool to the touch. I confirmed this after running it till it reached that temp then turning off and removing the card. I am nearly certain it has a bad thermal sensor, which is why I would like to know where they are so I can buy and solder new ones. All help is appreciated thanks!
