Rachel, hope it has worked on the newer TV's before. Anyhow, I would suggest that you clean the cartridge slot first, follow [guide|1588|this guide.] After that, it is time to open up your console, use [guide|1608|this guide], and check for any obvious signs of burned or loose connections. Check for broken solder contacts near the power switch and near where the power pack plugs in. If you are handy with a multimeter, I think I even have some schematics for this console.
