It uses the Z3740 CPU, the older one which can address up to 4Gb of ram rather then the Z3735E, which only goes to 1Gb, The clock speed of the '40 CPU is also faster, as is the graphics proc. speed rating is 20MHz higher. Also the '40 CPU is almost double the price, as a standalone chip! It has at least a dozen more features built in which were removed from the '35E newer version, go verify all this on Intel's site!
Now, assuming you are looking to UP the ssd disk storage, why not use an external USB-connected SSD drive mounted as "D:"? Simple! As for modding the board, I worked in electronics under a microscope soldering stuff in labs for many years, that Youtube MBoard mod interests me, not NECESSARY for the layman though. Asus recommends an external 500Gb HDD for this right on the spec sheet! Later...

You also MUST remember too that there are TWO different types of memory we deal with now: The ram that emulates a disk AND the ram that is as usual... addressable ram for the CPU's. The idea of giving each of the 4 cores a gig of ram each made sense, but these little ##&&%#@ limit that to a half gig each off the shelf.. ANY Mboard mod should be expanding RAM, not SSD RAM, SSD storage can be gained externally with a simple thumb drive.

PLUS, when you upgrade the OS on these to Windows 10, you do it by booting off a thumb drive and loading the SSD memory with a new OS after a format (as forced by whomever gave you the thumb drive-loaded upgrade) is done, thus losing ALL your collected data/sound/video/games/etc. If you are playing with these things and are NOT doing at least a CD backup thru the USB port on occasion, you're %#*@ foolish!
