Hey,

This topic has been discussed a few times, and the answer isn't quite straightforward yet.

Does your Touch ID still work? If that's the case, you've broke a small chip on the actual home button itself, which can be replaced, this would get normal home button function back.

If it doesn't work at all (no Touch ID, no home button function) then it could be a few things.

You may have damaged the home button when removing it, check for any tears or nicks.

The screen you have may be low quality, and there has been known issues with the home button not working with these.

The new screens home button extension flex cable may be damaged, this would require you to get another screen, or replace the 3D Touch/backlight with the extension flex cable.

Try the button with your original screen if possible.

You may have over tightnened the tightened the screws on the home button itself, or you may have put the shield above the home button bracket, causing a short, it's meant to be underneath the home button bracket.
