Depends on which vendor / brand GTX 980 Ti it is? Some aftermarket cooler ones use different screws to hold the backplate and aftermarket cooler on.

Most of them just need a phillips head screwdriver. iFixit 64-bit tool bit will have all the screw bits you need to disassemble every component in a computer.
