Don’t know about this machine but here’s the [https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1353777/Bernina-930.html?page=38#manual|presser foot section] from the service manual for a Bernini 930 that may help you to see what’s going on.
To check if the adjustment on your machine is correct you may have to improvise as I cannot find the “feeler gauge” mentioned in the manual but maybe you can place a 7.5mm object under the presser foot as described.
