So I’ll add this as a separate answer, as I haven’t seen it mentioned yet.
The left ear on my Crossfade 2 wouldn’t work when using Bluetooth, but it would using an audio cable. (I use the one given with the Crossfade). So I tried the above mentioned fixes, the firmware reset and audio cable plug-in and plug-out, but it still wouldn’t work.
I then tried the cable plug-in and plug-out with a different audio cable (in this case the audio cable from an Astro A40 TR), which did in fact fix the problem.
I have no idea why, but it worked. It may be worth a try if you are having the same issue as me.

+Edit: I also wanted to add that there was a difference in volume after the left one started to work again. This was fixed by maximizing the volume on my laptop, and then putting it back to normal.
