I have an LG47LV5400 , one of the LG 2011 models with " medialink" and "Plex client" integration. This worked quite fine until i did an 'update" yep the TV wanted to update it's firmware or operating system, so naturally thinking this would be an improvment i did it.

Plex server is gone. Well my server is there, the TV is not able to find it anymore after the update.

Also after the next update i was hoping would fix the Plex problem, the NTFS USB hard drive won't work anymore. In fact i formatted it to FAT32 and that won't work either. ( the TV wants to format it to use it as a DVR for the TV input). I have digital TV, this means i use HDMI inputs to watch TV....that already has a DVR.

I would like to know if there is a code or something that will set the TV's firmware back to out of the box version.

I will call LG tech support since no help at all is available i could find via google& forums, just others like me wondering what happened and when a " fix " will be released.

It erased my Netflix account info at some point as well.

I recommended this TV to a friend with a warning to not update, but the TV did it on its own. So after ignoring this problem at my home for awhile now thinking those nice people at LG will fix this with an update, it has not happened, just got worse and i would like to get it sorted out.

and TURN OFF those updates in the menu and leave it alone forever.

After an additional update, the NTFS USB hard drive won't work anymore. I formatted it to FAT32 and that won't work either ( the TV wants to format it to be used as a DVR).
