I decided to review my answer and the answers posted concerning the subject. In retrospect the short answer is "it all depends on how old your laptop is." All of the listed solutions above can and do work if your laptop is old enough. Now this part is my opinion and my opinion is that prior to 2017 models pulling out the battery or going to the paste bin method or changing the date or holding a function button plus another key or potentially all viable options IF and only if your Asus is pre 2017. After this date your option is to literally replace the motherboard (DIY) OR send it back to the manufacturer (ASUS.) Is now 2023 and I originally posted my findings in 2020. I have yet to find any other solution beyond this. I have empathy for all y'all. Please if you find a solution please post it for all to see. I was fortunate enough to finally remember my password.
