I have the same problem only with a Dell Inspirion ...Replaced paralled cells with high capacity single cells. 3000 mah. Got this message but they run the laptop for 2 1/2 hours.  The percentage amount drops rapidly but then stays on 10% then down to 6% for over an hour. Tried all the cycle fixes and uninstall battery controller routines. Difficult soldering without scraping the old nickle (?) and the new battery contacts with a knife.
