What is the Thin Soft Black Tape used inside the Ear-Cup?

I am afraid of using my headphones without it because I don't want to risk damaging them in any way. I ***have*** tested the "Tesla" tape available here, but I do not believe it is the same thing. It caused issues with the sound of the headphones.[br]
