My story is even funnier. I don't need my Asus laptop from 2018 anymore so I prepared it to give it to a family member. Did all the cleaning and removing of my personal data on it, had to do a lot of updates (I'm using a better laptop since over a year already so the Asus one got a little "rusty" in the software) and thus had multiple system restarts where I used my pw just fine.[br]

My story is even funnier. I don't need my Asus X411UA laptop from 2018 anymore so I prepared it to give it to a family member. Did all the cleaning and removing of my personal data on it, had to do a lot of updates (I'm using a better laptop since over a year already so the Asus one got a little "rusty" in the software) and thus had multiple system restarts where I used my pw just fine.[br]
After I was done with the cleaning I went into BIOS settings, found the Security part, clicked on the "Admin-Password" field, it asked me to write current pw which I did and down below were 2 lines for the NEW pw + repeat. Which I of course LEFT BLANK since the new owner doesn't need any pws. I DIDN'T typed ANYTHING in those fields. It asks "do you really want to reset the password?" - I click YES; Save+Exit/reboot... and guess what? It asks for bios PW again. [br]
Totally confused I write my previous pw and... "INVALID PASSWORD". I leave the field blank (since I thought when I left the fields blank when resetting the pw maybe the PW is now just a blank too" -> "INVALID PASSWORD"[br]
After a long research tried everything in the comments above - "INVALID PASSWORD".[br]
ALT+R doesn't work it just writes the "R" (covered by *'') ...''[br]
