The laptop is not turning on.

-Okay, there’s a problem with my dads Dell Latitude E7440. The issue is basically that when it’s connected to power (doesn’t matter if it is a power cord or the battery) and i press the power button lights up, it stays on for a couple of seconds then the light is gone and the battery icon starts blinking and eventually turns off and everything goes black. There is no display during this and also the fan is not spinning :(. As i looked up some youtube tutorials on how to fix the issue, someone said that removing the CMOS battery and replacing it may solve it. My dad said it was a fried motherboard, and i think it is too. Tried removing the CMOS and booting up without it, same issue. Removing the ram and inspecting the motherboard. Nothing helped and the mobo looked perfectly fine, I really want to surprise him and give the laptop back working. Thought about buying a new motherboard but decided to reach out to you guys before doing something stupid.
