In my case the technician uninstalled the screen and reinstalled it twice more and then fingerprint scanner worked again.

(I did drop and crack my screen a week after again ...though now haven't had it repaired since ..because if I do either I drop not again or someone will steal it ...a cracked screen is the best antitheft )
