I have a 2001 Ford escape XLT with a 3.0 V6.  I had an issue with it missing. I was getting some error codes for bad coil pack, spark plug. What I found when I pulled the spark plug out was that it was covered in oil to the point where it couldn’t fire. There are little round, gaskets that go around the spark plug tubes for each one of the cylinders. I replaced all of those seals and my misfire went away.
