It cost over $400 for a new housing.... this repair only cost around $10. Special thanks to "mapatni" user on the sienna chat forum for the part link and his guide.

2008 Toyota Sienna airfilter with broken plastic vacuum connector thanks to a reckless oil change facility.
-
-
-
Remove cover for the vehicle and carefully saw off the rest of the broken connector so it is flush with the cover and will be easier to drill out.
-
-
-
-
Drill out the old remaining connector with a 9/32 inch drill bit. ** you must use a 9/32 only so that the new metal connector with fit snug.**
-
-
-
Insert new metal connector with a little loctite glue using a small box wrench.
-
-
-
Replace airfilter (new one if needed) and re-attach vacuum hoses to housing in car. Pat self on the back for saving $400.

Good luck finding the fitting! I tried three auto parts stores (including ones whose websites falsely said they had them in stock), and finally settled for an adapter at Lowes. The threaded side was about half an inch but I made it work. I'm still disgusted that the dang vacuum fitting was so flimsy to begin with.
Part was out of stock for a while. Now available for $9.25

Thank you for helping me save some serious $$$. I was going to update this with photos, but since I ended up using a different fitting from Lowe's (addressing Jesus's comment), I decided that the details were sufficiently different to merit being a different guide. See it at Repairing Toyota Sienna Air Filter Vacuum Connector.
