On January 1, 2020, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) went into effect. Similar in some ways to Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the CCPA gives Californians important data privacy rights.
iFixit does not sell your data and we firmly believe in and respect your right to privacy. We already adhere to the GDPR and have updated our Privacy Policy to reflect that we also comply with the CCPA. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect information, what we do with it, who we share it with, and how you can exercise your data privacy rights.
As a rule, we try to collect and hold as little information as possible. And as advocates of understandable technical writing, we’ve gone out of our way to write our policy in plain English.
We believe the privacy of data, on our devices and on companies’ servers, will be one of the defining issues of the next decade. An open and honest disclosure about the rights and usage of data is something we ask of any company, including ourselves.
