Fix friend's RROD

Mein Problem

Friend's old XBox had expired warranty and suffered from RROD. He had since replaced it but offered the broken one to me if I could fix it.

Meine Reparatur

Very effortless, an evening's work - 3/4 hours including having to go out and buy a heat gun and XBox controller.

Mein Rat

Requires a fair bit patience cleaning off the old thermal paste. Take time gently opening up the XBox case. Putting it back together also requires care.

Be sure to use the correct size torx screw driver when putting XBox back together, it is very easy to ruin the screws when tightening.
