Mein Problem

Screen had lost all responsiveness, probably from being sweated on repeatedly for a year during runs, urgh.

Meine Reparatur

It went really well. Terrifying to pull the screen up at first as I had no idea how hard to to pull. It needed quite a yank to have it where I could get the opening tool in. From there it was steady as she goes. Very steady, with a lot of tentative picking away at things.

Rebooted and everything was working - yes!

Mein Rat

Use a dozen cups and Post-its to store and note which screw is which and so on. Those things are insanely tiny so you need some sort of record.

I didn't use an iOpener - a minute's blast from a hairdryer worked for me. You can feel when the glue has been warmed up, it gives quite easily.

As others have mentioned Step 25 seems completely redundant to me - you don't need to remove this as you're sticking it right back on again. Plus it looks a little fragile.

Reseating the cable connector is a bit of trial and error but they make a solid downward motion when they finally get in there.

Need more shots of the front facing camera assembly wrapping and so on. That thing is complicated. For example there is a tiny, fragile looking piece of plastic that seats the sensor that I only managed to get in the right position thru luck, some praying and a lot of prodding. Otherwise the guide is great.

The final closing of the unit - make sure the display is tight, tight, tight against the top of the case before you close it all up as the tolerance is insane. I had to do it twice.
