Mein Problem
My 14 yr old son Erik broke his iTouch (4th gen) screen. It cracked when he dropped it which was about 2 months after he got it. He has dropped it several times since then. Recently he dropped it again and did further damage to the glass. We finally decided it was time to give the repair a try. I believe the concept of the Otter Box was originated by someone that was a close friend of Erik.
Meine Reparatur
The repair went pretty well. We reviewed several online videos on this repair in addition to the step-by-step iFixit instructions prior to attempting the repair. The disassembly went fairly well. My son Erik did all of that work. It was the reassembly where things got tricky. Re-connecting the new front panel connector to the logic board was scary. Alignment of the two mating connectors was not easy. I was very concerned about applying too much pressure and damaging the connector. After we successfully got past that step everything went well until we got to the step to connect the last connector of the front panel to the logic board. Again there was no easy way to ensure that the connectors were properly aligned and we did not want to apply too much force for fear that we would damage the connector. Finally we got the two connector halves to mate. After that we were home free.

There should be more photos or documentation addressing the best methods for mating of the two connectors of the screen to the logic board.
