The screen went dark

Mein Problem

The LCD display in my Kindle Fire HD 7 wouldn't turn on. Power up sounds worked, but no display. After some research on ifixit.com, I was able to diagnose the issue and order the proper replacement part. Tear down guide was dead on perfect.

Meine Reparatur

Easy. Took about 20 minutes and the device was as good as new again.

Mein Rat

The battery only has to be removed if you are replacing it. Most repairs don't require removal, just unplugging. Also, I don't know if it was necessary to remove the motherboard, but I did just to be safe.
