Meine Reparatur

The replacement was pretty straight forward following the guide and images provided from the site. I had to remove the home button from the original phone since the one I ordered did not come with one. The home button removal was the most challenging part of the repair.

Mein Rat

When warming up the home button prior to removal I was not getting enough heat to both sides of the button to get the top left corner to release. The solution was folding the iOpener in half to cover the top and the bottom of the home button at the same time. This allowed me to get the home button free without tearing it. I used the same technique to help get the cable portion free from the panel assembly as well. The keys to success in getting the home button removed are getting the area warm enough to loosen the adhesive, don't force anything, and take your time.
