Mein Problem
The battery was shot. I had to charge it twice a day because it just didn’t last that long anymore. iOS recommended replacement under Settings>Battery.
Meine Reparatur
Smooth enough. I didn’t have a good way to prop the screen up, so I was getting a little nervous with my jerry-rigged solution (Velcro zip ties and a bottle of contact solution). The ribbon cables for the screen were easy to disconnect and reattach.
Getting the old battery out was the hardest part. The adhesive kept snapping on me, but once I got it out, reassembly was easy and took just a couple minutes.
Mein Rat
If the adhesive snaps and you can’t grab it, apply heat to the outside of the phone with a hairdryer. It softened up the adhesive enough that I could get in there and grab it again. Take your time and be patient, and you’ll be fine.
