PS3 Revived from the land of the dead...

I have an original 60GB PS3 model with full backwards compatibility, and it got the YLOD! After 5 years of service it gave way...but I refused to let that be the final word. To iFixit!! And of course there is a full repair guide and a product kit to assist.

Meine Reparatur

I purchased the PS3 YLOD Fix Kit from iFixIt and it arrived in just a few days...very fast shipping! The repair went smoothly following along with the guide, it is a complicated tear down. There are a lot of screws and things to take apart before you can get to the motherboard itself.

The good news is the repair was successful! My PS3 has been resurrected, thanks to iFixIt!

My only advice would be to keep track of where your screws go, there are a lot of them and that was the only issue that I had. It takes a while to complete this repair so its easy to forget which screws go where.
