Repaired dead Mic on a Google Pixel first gen

Mein Problem

The microphone had stopped working on my wife's first gen Pixel phone and warranty had lapsed about a month before.

Meine Reparatur

Repair went pretty smoothly. Don't have a microwave so couldn't use the iOpener gel tube that came with repair kit (tried putting it in hot water but didn't really work) so used hair dryer and went smoothly.

Mein Rat

have to pry up screen after heating, by going through the ear speaker opening, if done carefully you can avoid messing up that screen, don't go in too far. Also, I used soft clamps at the end to put the screen/glass back on and reseal using existing stick'em. Not sure how that will work long term, but seems to be solid so far.
