Mein Problem

A neighbor asked to check a phone because it was just shutting on/off randomly, even when fully charged. I made a guess that possibly a battery replacement was what it needed.

As usual, the ifixit order arrived promptly, the instructions online are easy to follow and I replaced the battery. Unfortunately the phone still has the same issue.

Mein Rat

Some notes from the repair. I didn't fully remove all the parts it suggested. I did fully remove the display but I tried to get the old battery out without removing all the other stuff as my 3pt driver seemed to be missing. I tried using the floss method but that didn't work well either. I basically pried the end of the batter up so could get something under it to pry it out the rest of the way. I realize that is dangerous for possibly busting the batter so maybe not the best method. Either way I got it out and replaced. Only issue I had is putting the new battery in. It you don't line it up just right the connector doesn't line up with the spot on the logic board just right and you have to mess with it a bit. All great except it didn't fix the problem on the phone. Rather inexpensive attempt though.
