Replacing the right fan on macbook 17"(Model A1261).

My right fan started making a terrible noise, almost making the chassis shake. At first, I tried to blow it clean with compressed air, but that had no effect. Then I started searching for a store who would sell me a new fan, which turned out to be allmost impossible in Denmark and the UK. Then I found ifixit and the kind of support and service that I had only dreamed about.

The repair went perfect. I just googled "how to remove macbook pro fan".

Mein Rat

Remember to clean the grill, once the old fan is removed.
