The battery simply wouldn't hold a charge anymore, to the point that it would constantly reboot when plugged in to a power source.

It went better once I found your step by step guide online (tried it on my own at first). I was a bit shocked to find that I needed a torx screwdriver and it wasn't included in the kit (maybe I missed a warning somewhere). Once I found one, the rest of the repair went smoothly and the iPod is up and running again.

Mein Rat

The repair needs a torx screw driver and the kit does not come with one.
