Replaced hard drive in old macbook

Mein Problem

My computer is 6 years old (considered an antique) and my hard drive crashed. I am 57 years old and don't feel that 6 years qualifies something to be obsolete so was determined to fix it myself.

Meine Reparatur

With a little help from my son i was able to replace the drive (which was a piece of cake) but needed help on rebooting my operating system, then booting up the upgrade disc, followed by reformatting everything from my external hard drive. I can't believe i actually did it alone, well with Ifixit help too. :-)
