My friend spilt beer into the keyboard of her 2011 MacBook pro 15. The Mac would run but keyboard was shot. You could not type anything and power button would not work.
Meine Reparatur
I bought a new keyboard the unibody 15'' A1286 2011 Topcase & Touchpad & US Keyboard. Installed it which was a bit more than I figured it would be. You have to take everything out of the old case with broken keyboard and put into new case. You will also need special screw driver for battery. Which I bought from ifixit. Also ifixit has great tutorials on repairs of this magnitude. The troubleshooting and repair took about 3.5 hrs as I stripped everything down to keyboard first to investigate. Then I put everything back together to see keyboard was the only issue. To save this 2100.00 macbook for my friend at 180.00 bucks was well worth it.
