AMAZING!!!!

Mein Problem

A while back, my son's Playstation 3 was hit with the (YLOD) - Yellow Light of Death. He had borrowed a Playstation Game from the Public Library, and the disk was stuck inside the gaming console. We were in PANIC mode, so we decided to break the warranty seal to get the borrowed disk out. When we found out about the YLOD, and Sony's repair policy, we decided to call Sony to have it repaired for OVER $100.00 plus shipping. Unfortunately after hearing that we broke the warranty seal to eject a borrowed Library disk, they told us we were on our own!!! So we did an internet search and thank goodness we found IFIXIT.COM!! For a fraction of the cost, we were able to purcahse all the tools necessary to make the repair on our own. We ordered the kit and it arrived in record time!! The tools we received in the repair kit were of HIGH QUALITY, and so were the instructions on the website!!

Meine Reparatur

The IFIXIT.COM website is AMAZING because it has tons of Step by Step Guides, Videos, and Detailed Instructions!! We carefully took everything apart, removed all the old Thermal Pads and Thermal Paste, cleaned up everything, heated the entire mother board for about 2 minutes, we heated the four sections for about 30 seconds each to reflow the solder, then we let the board cool down for about 20 minutes. We applied new thermal pads and thermal paste, and reassembled the parts layer by layer. After the last screw was tightened, my son rushed the Playstation 3 up to his room for a test run. After taking a huge deep breath, we were EXTREMELY happy to see the Playstation come back to life!!

Mein Rat

We did experience one problem after the repair was completed. Upon testing, the wireless controllers and the WIFI Internet connections did not work. I immediately searched IFIXIT.COM and found the same DETAILED GUIDES explaining what the problem could be and Step by Step Instructions on how to fix it. After removing the cover, we found the Bluetooth / WIFI Board and were able to determine that the ribbon cable wasn't seated properly. After pulling it out and carefully plugging it back in securely, the Wireless Controller AND the WIFI Internet worked flawlessly!! THANK YOU IFIXIT.COM!!! By the way, I was telling my friend about my repair success with the Playstation 3. He told me he has a Wii with a disk drive issue, so I looked it up on IFIXIT.COM and found out it was a Drive Lens problem!! Needless to say, he will be ordering a repair kit from you TODAY!!
