Fixing Roommate's PS3

Mein Problem

My roommate owns a 60GB 1st Generation PS3. He had just bought Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception. (Great Game!). About two hours through, he got the YLOD. Even if I couldn't fix the PS3, I had to save Drake. I had done some similar repairs to desktop computers and have taken apart mac laptops and the warranty was gone, so it was absolutely worth a shot.

Meine Reparatur

Everything in the kit arrived quickly and had everything i needed. If the guide is followed, nothing is too difficult. The thermal Paste is the most difficult part of the repair. When finished, the PS3 turned on and Drakes Adventure could continue!!

Mein Rat

The heat gun smokes a little when first used, so run it in a well ventilated area.

There are a lot of parts and a lot of screws. As I took it apart, I placed the parts and screws on a table in chronological order. This makes it very easy to put the PS3 back together.
