My headphone jack only works on one channel. I can only get both channels to work if I press very hard on the headphone plug (I've tried this with two separate headphones - the issue is definitely within the player and not with the headphones). Do I have any recourse?
same. I dropped mine and it did that. Don’t see why when I opened it up. Does anyone know what it is?
It's apparently pretty common for mini jack ports to break, my mp3 player is less than a year old, has never been dropped but the mini jack port gradually started not working. I cut the speaker's cables to prevent it from emitting sound every time the plug moves and it seemed to partially solve the broken port issue though I don't know why. The best thing to do besides buying a new mp3 player might be to replace the port (debris or bended parts prevent the electrical connections but I don't know if it is possible to fix such small components)
