    • You're going to want to get a flat head screwdriver and pry open the clip on the inside to get to the inner part of the alarm.

    • After the last step you can now see the inside.

    • Now what you should do is pop a small screwdriver into the rivet hole to unlock the battery holder.

    • Now with the the battery back area being popped out you can safely take out the ringer and the mother board of the smoke detector.

    • Electricity works in a smoke detector by detecting smoke via a air filtration tank and when it detects the smoke it send a electric signal to a air horn to beep every 3-5 seconds.
