Ich hätte beim ersten Mal lernen sollen, dass es keine gute Idee ist, sich auf diese Kunststoffstühle zu setzen.

Der erste bekam oben an der Rückenlehne einen Riss, nachdem ich eine Weile darauf gesessen hatte.

Nach dem Bruch war es mir untersagt, auf dem kaputten Stuhl zu sitzen, aber nicht auf anderen seiner Art. Also setzte ich mich auf einen anderen, der genauso aussah.

Der zweite Stuhl hatte nicht so viel Glück.

Er gab keine Vorwarnung vor seinem plötzlichen Zusammenbruch. Er zerbrach einfach in Stücke, während ich darauf saß.

Durch den Bruch entstanden drei verschiedene Teile:

Die obere Hälfte des Stuhls, an der man normalerweise seinen Rücken anlehnt.

Die untere Hälfte des Stuhls, auf der man normalerweise sitzt.

Die hinteren Stuhlbeine, die sich problemlos abgelöst haben.

Für die Konstruktion des Stuhls wurde nur hochwertigster Kunststoff verwendet, aber das hat mich nicht davor bewahrt, ihn kaputt zu machen.

Zum Glück hat mich dieses schmiedeeiserne Geländer davor bewahrt, von der Terrasse vier Stockwerke in die Tiefe zu stürzen.

Mein Kopf hat den gesamten Aufprall des Sturzes abgefangen, also ist alles gut ausgegangen.

I think we can all relate to this; thanks for the highly technical but tongue in cheek guide. Maybe you can show us how to repair it like new. I'll bet Red Green could do it with duct tape.
Without being certain, I suspect that exposure to prolonged sunlight weakens the plastic in these chairs. It sure seems to cause fading of the color, and while I've slain some faded ones with my bulk, I don't recall having broken one that hadn't already been more than one season exposed to the elements. Perhaps a canvas or vinyl cover over a stack of these, if they must be stored outside, might tend to prolong their useful life. I'm not aware of any adhesive that would join such broken bits securely enough to risk another sit in a repaired plastic chair.
Yes! I have 2 of those SAME EXACT chairs! Sitting in one and leaning back, the backrest area starts to twist slighly and feel like it could move to the left or right with very little pressure.
I have used this chair as a stepladder, standing on the seat area, and I couldn’t consentrate on the task I was to perform just above me because all I could think about is that this flimsy chair is going to explode into many green plastic pieces any second!
I plan on giving them away to a long time friend that I realy don’t like anymore.
I have new plastic chairs when I check them outside this morning one chairs leg had separated completely, it appeared someone had sat in it and broke it but I live alone, what could of happened anyone have any suggestions
Sunburnt plastic in the sun for too long, plastic fatigue, who knows? A ghost of a chainsaw, maybe?
