Surprised no one on here had this issue or made any comments. Anyway this is the answer. The item is now FIXED, car vac working again. Basically I took a chance and prised the sealed power adapter plug open. Turns out there is a small 10A glass fuse after all, which had blown! Refitted with a whole brand new 10A fuse and power plug adapter. One I can access the fuse by just unscrewing the end cap if need be again. https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/p/carpoi...-lighter-plug-12v https://cpc.farnell.com/carpoint/0523415...-with-on-off/dp/CP05738 Threw the Black and Decker version adapter in the bin! Hope this helps anyone else out, especially if warranty has run out or you bought second hand one.
Mehr erfahrenHello, Here's how you do it; https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/ Or https://dosdude1.com/software.html There's plenty of tutorials on how to use them, they're tried and tested. If you can understand someone elses instructions. They works great. However, stick to an official osx for your machine. These newer osx versions slow down older machines. And you soon want to go back to a simpler desktop. Regards
Mehr erfahrenHello, I read your post. Here's my reply as an Apple product owner for many many years. If you or anyone for that matter takes in an Apple product into their store to be diagnosed, looked at for whatever reason. Whether you knew of it or not, that it has sustained water, wine, coffee, fizzy pop etc, liquid spill onto it at some point prior to your visit. Maybe a person you bought the machine from but didn't tell you etc. Maybe the actual reason for your visit, hoping they wouldn't detect the liquid spill? There are 'blots' of liquid spill paper markers dotted around the internals of a MacBook (Pro) which immediately tell an Apple technician upon opening the device. Liquid is present in the machine. Based on that, they have the right to turn down the repair immediately. However in this case, they replaced your screen under the Apple replacement scheme. Which is always good of Apple to do for free. But they aren't accountable for what they found when they opened your laptop. The way around it is to find a...
Mehr erfahrenHello , there is lots of information out there, for example; https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/ Take the serial number from the base panel and type it into the 'lookup' option. The machine will show up or a selection from that year and screen size. It will tell you what you want to know. Regards
Mehr erfahrenHello, theoretically you could, but I'd just buy one of these; https://www.dicota.com/en/anti-glare-filter-3h-for-macbook-15-4-self-adhesive.html There's plenty of them available out there and it's quicker too and more cost effective on the pocket! Regards
Mehr erfahrenHello, if the keyboard , trackpad area rises, bloats it means your internal battery is swelling. My advice is don't continue to use the machine. Buy another replacement battery immediately. Here's an example; MacBook Air 11" Mid 2011 Akku Austausch MacBook Air 11" (Mid 2011-Early 2015) Battery Regards
Mehr erfahrenHello, did you do the following PRAM & SMC resets on changing internal parts? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063 https://support.apple.com/en-us/102605 https://www.macworld.com/article/224955/... Lots of others saying the exact same thing about osX Sonoma 14.1.x https://discussions.apple.com/welcome Regards
Mehr erfahrenHello just read your question. Here is my response. Hope it helps. You say the mac mini is a late 2014, have you checked the serial number on it, base panel; https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/ Secondly, if you've never opened a Mac Mini or other Apple product, did you use a proper tutorial like this one? Mac mini (Ende 2014) Teardown If you did, and swapped the HD over and put all the wires back correctly , then the machine should boot to a white screen with an onscreen 'flashing folder'. Telling the user there is no osX installed. (Flashing folder can mean other things too, not discussed here). Example picture. Reinstalling any fresh osX from a usb flash pen drive is very easy, you don't need to connect to the internet at all. All osX operating systems are time based. You have to set the date/time via terminal according to the osX your installing. Otherwise you will get error messages onscreen, telling you there are 'no packages available'. Causing you to scratch your head!! Example pictures. If...
Mehr erfahrenHello, loads of good video answers on YouTube showing you what to do. How to repair existing freezer / fridge seal with either a heat gun or a hair dryer. Just type in to google search area your question wording as above. Should answer your question. Regards
Mehr erfahrenHello, some would say don't turn it on for a while. Place in warm airing cupboard for a few days. Or place in a bowl of dry rice for same duration. Maybe if you have kept packeted dessicants from past purchases like shoes, trainers etc. Dessicants draw out moisture. Or try a hairdryer. Loads of tutorials out there, here's one. Google more using different web browsers. Duckduckgo, Yandex, Yahoo, Bing etc. Don't just rely on google! https://discussions.apple.com/thread/271... Regards
