Interesting battery design. It rotates slightly and then can be lifted out.
I was able to remove my optical drive by pushing it out after removing the 2x5 securing screw.
My optical drive slid out as one unit, once I removed the 2x5 securing screw. There was a handy slot in the base that allowed me to push it out.
Notice how the bracket covers over the antenna leads. There is a small tab on the bracket to keep it aligned.
My latch was white and it rotates in the black base.
Unlatching the cable lets you keep the black adapter attached to the hard drive to remove as one unit.
I prefer using a spudger to pry any plastics.
Push the keyboard securing clips towards the screen away from the top of the keyboard.
To get the bottom tabs of the keyboard out of the palm-rest slide the keyboard up towards the screen.
After loosening the bezel, I was able to free the side tab and rotate the bezel out from the bottom enough to clear the tabs (note Step 41).
It is attached to the bezel and not to the drive.
