Hello Dan. I bought a few of these and was about to chuck them. Do you have the ammo belts? And if you do, you have to put them in, NERF logo upward, and Empty dart area facing out. For some reason the gun wouldn't do anything without the ammo belt placed in the and under the feed area. So make sure you are using fresh "D" batteries, have the nerf ammo belt facing the correct position and pray. I did this and all mine work when I was at my last wit. Hope this helps.
