My name is Beckham Richmond and I am an Aerospace Engineering major at California Polytechnic State University. I am fascinated by in-atmosphere flight, and hope to work for a company that designs and tests new and exciting airplanes. I have experience with CAD modeling (Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, etc.) and have worked with machines my whole life. I know how to work a mill and lathe, and have prototyped parts using these machines. I have made many things, but with limited experience these things are generally useless. I am more proud of the repairs that I have made. I have fixed a crashed car twice, a crashed golf cart, a broken moped, several bikes, and several smaller things that do not require much work. I am part of the Aircraft Design and Construction Club (ADCC), where I design and build remote controlled planes and quadcopters. It is fun to be able to use the information that I learn in aerospace classes to actually make something. I enjoy being active, reading, or relaxing in my spare time. I have a dog, a chubby little beagle named scooter, who I miss everyday. I can wiggle my ears and my thumbs are double-jointed.

This project is a great opportunity for me to see how a real world company functions, and have valuable experience in seeing how engineers communicate in their jobs. It is also something that will look great on my resume and hopefully give me a leg up on securing a job.
