Hat geantwortet auf: NO WIFI greyed out.I know this post is old, but maybe this information may help someone else out, I have repaired a lot of iPods and have run across this issue several times. One example I have in mind is an iPod 2gen that had gotten wet (the moisture indicator was bright red). I was able to bring most of it back from the dead, but was unable to get wifi to work...the wifi selector was grayed out under the settings. I took it back apart to look at it again. The wifi assemble is at the top right corner of the device, right behind the black shield that is visible on the backside of the outer stainless shell. Also, make sure that the screws are screwed all the way in. And of course, follow Oldturkey03's suggestion and make sure that you installed the correct part. Good luck!

However, the power button functioned properly. Maybe worth checking out. I had to use a penlight to see the bent pens. Specifically, here is what happened to this ipod. Since one of the pins was broken (I think it was Pin 23) it would not power and the battery had long since ran out. In all appearances, the Ipod appeared to be bricked. But only the ability to charge the ipod was defective. The good news is that I was able to re-soilder a replacement doc connector on for only around two bucks. But I got to warn everyone, those pins are really tiny. Hope this may help you or someone else out
