Your laptop screen is black or blue.
Make sure your computer is turned on. Make sure that you do not have any applications open that may be making the screen black. You may have disabled the screen with the function key (fn) in the bottom left of the keyboard and the f7 key. To undo this, hold the fn key and press the f7 key. If the screen is still black after all of those, your screen may be broken. See our Screen Replacement guide to know how to replace a screen. Parts of the screen being black is a signal that some of the LED's may be dying out.
Make sure that you do not have any applications open that may be making the screen blue. If the screen is still blue after waiting a bit, your screen may be broken. See this link *** on how to replace a screen. If it is a blue screen with text on it, it is likely a problem with the processor or graphics card. It could be a software issue. Some of the common problems are Windows crashing or very specific files becoming corrupt or crashing. There are many anti virus programs that can help to fix crash issues by searching for malware and updating drivers.
Your battery is dying quickly or not charging.
This is caused by either an old battery that needs to be replaced or a faulty battery. If you have an old battery, see our Battery Replacement Guide to know how to replace a battery. If it is a faulty battery it may need to be replaced as well.
If your battery isn't charging, it is possible that the problem is with the charger and not the battery. Make sure that you have connected all parts of the charger correctly (to the computer and to the power source). Try testing the charger on a source that you know has a good battery and see if it will charge the battery. If nothing else works, you can replace the charger by buying a new one.
Your keyboard keys are not working properly.
Make sure that your keyboard is clean as dirt and food particles can make keys not work properly. After that, if it still isn't responding when pressed, you may need to replace them.
Your USB isn't connecting when plugged in.
Try restarting the laptop as it may be that the device you are plugging in is not appearing but is working. The ports could be dirty and that may be blocking the connection. Try cleaning them out carefully with a small cloth. If those solutions don't work, the USB ports may need to be replaced. Here is a USB Port Replacement Guide to know how to replace USB ports.
If your computer says your device is not recognized, you may have a faulty device, or you need to configure the device to be read by the computer. A USB, for example, can be set to organizes its stored information a few different ways. First start by turning off and on the laptop to be sure it wasn't a system glitch. This can be changed by plugging the device in and changing its properties. If it is still not recognized, the device may be faulty and need to be replaced.
Your laptop cannot use tablet mode properly.
Tablet mode troubles generally have to do with settings. Make sure you have activated tablet mode. In Windows 10, for example, there is a prompt to go into tablet mode. If you would like to turn off this prompt so in the future it doesn't ask you, go to settings --> system --> tablet mode. From there, you can make the necessary changes.
