Front-Facing Camera Will Not Work
The camera is not acting properly, and the pictures are not turning out the way the user would intend.
Lens is Dirty
Check the lens of the front-facing camera to make sure that it is not dirty. If the lens is dirty take a microfiber cloth and wipe the lens off thoroughly. Make sure the pictures that are being taken are up to your standards.
Camera is Turned Off
Check to make sure the front-facing camera is on by trying to take front-facing pictures with it. If the camera is on, then it should be functioning properly and the app that you might be using may not allow for front facing camera functionality. Check the app capabilities in use with this tablet. If the app capabilities do not seem to fit your needs, check for different apps that would help achieve your goal.
Reset is Required
If you notice that your Nextbook is not responding to any of your input, and it is not responding to any of the buttons that you press on the device, all that may be needed is a reset of the device. To reset the Nextbook find a small hole at the bottom that has the word reset by it, use a paper clip to hit this button and the device will reset. If you cannot find this button, you can take the battery out of the back and put it back in. To remove the battery follow the Battery Replacement Guide.
Software is Out-of-Date
Check to make sure that the software for your Nextbook is updated with the latest version of the software. Check that your Nextbook has the most updated version of software by checking the updates section of the settings under the “about device” section. If this does not fix the issue, it is possible the front-facing camera may need to be replaced.
Lens is Broken
If you notice that the pictures you are taking have lines through it, you might very well have a cracked lens. If you believe that the lens is cracked, you can contact Nextbook to see if they will replace the camera for you.
Screen is Cracked Over Lens
If you notice a crack in the Nextbook’s screen, test the device with caution. If the screen is cracked and not responding to your touch anymore, the screen should be replaced immediately. If the screen is still responding to your touch, use the device with caution, and replace the screen as soon as possible.
Screen is Frozen
The Nextbook does not respond to touch.
Screen is Dirty
The Nextbook’s screen is powered by a capacitive touch screen which needs a clean surface to read the touch from. Make sure that the device is cleaned with a microfiber cloth.
Battery Life is Low
If the battery is low, the screen may not respond as normal. If this is the case, plug in and charge your Nextbook.

Nextbook Will Not Turn On
The Nextbook displays an icon revealing it is out of battery.
Nextbook is Not Charged
Plug your Nextbook into the AC Adapter that was provided with the device and charge the device back to full battery life.
Battery is Faulty
Plug the Nextbook into a charger that you know works properly. If the device is still not charging, this is a sign of a faulty battery, and the battery needs to be replaced.
Charger is Faulty
You may not be experiencing a problem with the Nextbook itself, it may very well be the charging cord. Charge a similar device with the charging cord of the Nextbook to verify that it works properly. If the cord does not work with the other device, it is most likely faulty and a new one should be purchased.
Nextbook is Not Responding to Charger
The Nextbook is not charging properly.
Charger is Faulty
You may not be experiencing a problem with the Nextbook itself, it may very well be the charging cord. Charge a similar device with the charging cord of the Nextbook to verify that it works properly. If the cord does not work with the other device, it is most likely faulty and a new one should be purchased.
Battery is Faulty
Plug the Nextbook into a charger that you know works properly. If the device is still not charging, this is a sign of a faulty battery, and the battery needs to be replaced.
Micro-USB Port is Faulty
If your Nextbook is not responding to the charger, and neither the charger nor the battery is faulty, the Micro-USB port may be faulty. To test this, check your charger with another device to make sure it works, and if you have tested the battery properly, then look to replace the Micro-USB port by contacting Nextbook.
Performance is Slow
The Nextbook is not performing at the speed that you are used to.
Software is Out-of-Date
The Nextbook may be responding to slower than usual because the software is out-of-date. Check that your Nextbook has the most updated version of software by checking the updates section of the settings under the “about device” section. If you check for software updates and it is not up-to-date, update the software. If it is up-to-date, wait for the next software update or bug-fix to release and it will most likely improve the performance of your device.

Have a nextbook ares 10a and i am looking to find out what the warranty on it is, bought this device for my daughter at chrisrmas (2016) time and has since died and can not get it to take a cherge and turn on, have left it on charger and it will show full charge but will not allow to turn on battery drops to 1% as soon as i turn it on. Pretty sure it is the battery but if it is still covered under warranty, would like to have it fixed, if not would need quote to repair before proceeding

I just bought one a week ago at WalMart. I want my money back. It has trouble charging, acts like a faulty cord or port. Also, the cord will not go all the way into port so he falls out easily. I am thoroughly discussed. Wondering if anyone else had same experience. Is sending back to Nextbook or WalMart an option?

I have a textbook nx008hd8g and I cannot update it. I go to settings but it does not say system update, instead it says OTA service and I click it but to only see that it says automatic update. It’s checked but I still haven’t received an update, I am still running android version 4.1.1 . Does anybody know how I can fix this so I can update. Please be quick
