Phone will not turn on
- The battery could be low. Try charging the battery with the phone's accompanying unit: the Panasonic KX-T4000H.
- If the phone still does not turn on, then the battery could be damaged. Order a new battery from Panasonic's website and follow the Installing Phone Battery guide to remove the damaged battery from your phone.
Push 'Open' button is stuck
- If the button to open the phone is stuck, follow the Panasonic KX-T4000R Cordless Phone Antenna Replacement guide to open the back cover of the phone to gain access to the open latch.
- Note that the latch for opening the phone and extending the antenna is the same for both.
Rubber Keypad is Unresponsive
- The battery might need to be charged. Charge the battery in the unit's receiver, the Panasonic KX-T4000H.
- If the phone turns on but the buttons still do not work, the motherboard could be damaged. For instructions on how to access the motherboard, look through the Removing the Back Panel of the Phone guide.
Poor Reception
- If you are having issues with reception, try moving closer to the receiver, the Panasonic KX-T4000H.
- If your reception does not improve after getting closer to the receiver, your antenna may be damaged. Follow the Panasonic KX-T4000R Cordless Phone Antenna Replacement guide to access the antenna for removal.
User cannot hear the correspondent
- If you are having issues with reception, try moving closer to the receiver, the Panasonic KX-T4000H.
- The volume of the phone may be too low. Increase the volume using the volume slider on the side of the phone.
- If hearing issues persist, the phone speaker could be damaged. Follow the Removing the Back Panel of the Phone guide to access the speaker.
- Note: The removal of the speaker will require soldering to both be destroyed for removal and reapplied once the speaker has been replaced.
Correspondent cannot hear the user
- If you are having issues with reception, try moving closer to the receiver, the Panasonic KX-T4000H.
- The microphone of the phone could be damaged. Consult the KX-T4000R Service Manual to try and find the appropriate method to remove the microphone.
