Drone Won’t Fly Straight
The drone is not flying straight in the air.
Faulty Propellers
It is possible that one or several of the propellers are seated incorrectly, causing them to spin slightly angled. Try pressing them down on the fittings to make sure they are snug. If one or more of the propellers are broken, refer to the propeller replacement guide.
Faulty Motors
One or several of the drone motors may spin at different speeds and change flight direction. It may be necessary to replace these motors if this problem keeps occurring.
Drone Won’t Track Straight in Water
The drone is not moving straight in the water.
Broken Rudders
There are three plastic rudders on the Parrot Hydrofoil Orak, located below the left, right, and back hydrofoil outriggers. If these rudders are broken, the drone will not track in a straight line when in the water. Using the rudder repair guide, replace the broken rudders and/or damaged hydrofoil to fix this problem.
Faulty Propellers
If the drone propellers are broken, faulty, or if one moves faster than the others, the drone will not be able to move in a straight line. First, try pressing down on the propellers to make sure they are securely fastened onto the drone. If one or more of the propellers are broken, refer to the propeller replacement guide.
Faulty Motors
One or several of the drone motors may spin at different speeds and change flight direction. It may be necessary to replace the motors if this is the case.
Drone Won’t Turn On
Eyes do not turn green when drone is switched “on”.
Incorrect Battery Installation
Make sure the triangle on the battery is on top and that the battery is inserted in the direction that the triangle is pointing. For more details, check out the battery replacement guide.
Dead Battery
The battery may not be charged. Make sure to charge the battery for at least 25 minutes if using a charger with a minimum power rating of 2.4 A. To replace the battery, see the battery replacement guide.
Faulty Battery
You may have a faulty battery that will need to be replaced with a new 550 mAh lithium-polymer battery. Use the battery replacement guide for a step by step guide for replacing the battery.
Drone Won't Charge
The app and the charging LED indicate that the drone isn't charging.
Incorrect Battery Installation
Make sure the triangle on the battery is on top and that the battery is inserted in the direction that the triangle is pointing. To make sure the battery is installed correctly, see the battery replacement guide.
Incorrect Charging Method
The power rating of the charger must be a minimum of 2.4 A, and it must be charged for at least 25 minutes. If you are charging through a computer, you must use the microUSB cable and charge it for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes. These are the only two charging methods.
Faulty Power Adapter
Check to make sure that the power adapter is plugged in and the outlet is working. Disconnect the battery from the drone and connect the charging cable. Attempt to power the drone on. If the drone turns on, there is a battery issue. If the drone does not turn on, check that the microUSB charging cable is clean and undamaged. If the cable appears damaged, replace with another microUSB charging cable. If the cable is in good condition, check to make sure that the charging port on the drone is clean and undamaged. If the drone will still not charge, there may be a faulty connection within the drone.
Faulty Battery
Begin by plugging the battery into the charger for at least 30 minutes and clean the connections between the battery and drone. If the battery still doesn't work, it may have to be replaced with a new 550 mAh lithium-polymer battery. For more information about how to remove and replace the battery, see the battery replacement guide.
Bluetooth Won’t Connect to Drone
FreeFlight Mini app fails to wirelessly connect to drone.
Outdated Software
Parrot periodically releases updates to the Hydrofoil drone’s software and failure to update to the newest version can lead to bluetooth connectivity problems. There are two options for updating the firmware: using the app or using a USB cord. If you choose to use the FreeFlight Mini app simply press the “Check for Updates” icon after you launch the app and allow it to download. However, if this option is not possible it will be necessary to connect your Minidrone to a computer and then search the Parrot website for the latest update. After you have downloaded the update, drag the file over into the Minidrone as if it was a USB drive. As the file is transferred, the LED light on the Minidrone will flash orange, when it stops flashing the transfer is complete.
