Loose Power Jack
Your PowerLead Puto PLD003 will not deliver any power. Test power is charging when plugged into a wall jack by using the same charger, but with different camera, then test it using headphones. If the power is ON for few second and then switch back to OFF status, then the power jack is may be loose. Power jack needs to be tightened to the internal printed circuit board. However, It is the best if you change the power jack connector to make sure it works again because the hardware of the power jack may be faulty. Here you will find a step by step repair guide for DC power connector replacement search for http://www.laptoprepair101.com/dc-power-...
Faulty Printed Circuit Board Chip
Your PowerLead Puto PLD003 will not deliver any power. If the camera is still OFF when replacing the power connector, one of the Printed Circuit Board may be corrupt. Microelectronics chip gets burned easily when over powered. You may even can smell the burn of these chips. Disassemble the external hardware of the camera until you see the green printed circuit board. You can easily see if the is any burned chip, however, you should know the difference between new chip and burned chip so you can easily tell. Some of these chips used Through Hole Technology (THT), for those chips, you will only need microelectronic screwdriver and a new chip to change it. On the other hand, some chips used Surface Mount Technology (SMT), and this one is a little bit harder to change. You will a new chip and this file which will give step by step guide for SMT insulation at home. Search for http://www.speleogroup.org/files/SMT-boa.... Exercise caution when installation.
Wire Failure
Your PowerLead Puto PLD003 will not deliver any power. Before reassembling the hardware. it is a good time to test the wires because it is common, but not obvious problem with microelectronic devices. Wires melted easily when over powered especially with small devices like this camera. Voltage applications to discharge wires increase spark-over potential. This can result in electrical erosion at the point of spark-over, weakening the wire and increasing the likelihood of wire breakage. Use the two-lead circuit tester to check for voltage. Place one lead on a live / hot wire (usually black, but can be any color other than green or white) and the other on a neutral (white) or ground (green or copper) wire, and the tester's light will turn on to tell you the wire is on working status. If the light did not turn on then you have broken wire that needs to be replaced. The guide for replacing those wires is as the following, Turn off / cut off the power even if it is not working at the moment, remove the old wire, put in the new wire, tighten the screws, connect the wires, secure the base or canopy. Some wires may need to be mounted which you will use SMT as described above.
