Before we launch into a complete tear down of the phone, make sure that you have the volume turned up. The volume buttons are located on the left side of the phone. Press down on the top button several times (indicated by a + on the button) to increase the volume. If that doesn't work, make sure that the phone isn't in Silent mode. Go into your settings and verify that the phone is set properly.

You see the words "No Service" at the top of the phone and are unable to make or receive calls.

Sometimes when you carry your phone in your pocket, in a purse or in a jacket, it can interrupt the signal. Try powering down your device (hold down the END button) and then power it back up and see if that resolves your issue.

Check with your service provider to make sure they have coverage in the area you are attempting to make or receive a call. Signal is effected by a variety of things such as: building types (brick, concrete), thick or heavy foliage, tall buildings or terrain. Make sure you are in an open area if possible and see if your signal is restored.

Sometimes service providers complete system updates to their service and on rare occasions, it has a negative impact on the SIM card in your phone. If you have tried to resolve the problem and are certain you are in an area that your service provider has coverage, then your SIM card might need to be replaced.
